Four West Michigan students receive advanced manufacturing scholarships
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Four West Michigan pupils researching engineering and producing has been awarded scholarships from Find Manufacturing, an field group that supports and encourages the producing sector.
“Developing a balanced expertise pipeline and supporting the schooling of expert learners is significant to sustaining a robust future for Michigan’s manufacturing market,” stated Jerry Hill, market council lead at West Michigan Functions!. “We’re grateful for the many companies who are inclined to commit in the education and learning of pupils as they enter the remarkable and worthwhile area of highly developed manufacturing.”
Here’s a glimpse at the students who were being awarded the scholarships:
Dinesh Ravikumar
“Ravikumar was awarded $1,500. He is a Forest Hills Northern High Faculty graduate who will show up at the University of Michigan and major in Mechanical Engineering. Dinesh’s interest in STEM topics led him to take part in university things to do like Math Counts and Science Olympiad. Outside of faculty, he enjoys playing the piano and hanging out with friends.”
Charlie Hartman
“Hartman was awarded $1,250. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Forest Hills Northern Superior School who was also awarded Superb Male Athlete in 2022. Charlie will go to the University of Michigan and review Engineering. For the duration of his time at Forest Hills Northern, he was the staff captain of his varsity baseball, basketball and football teams. In his spare time, Charlie enjoys paying time with close friends and household.”
Erich Laird
“Laird was awarded $1,250. He is a junior at Ferris Condition College who is majoring in Welding Engineering. Throughout the impending slide semester, Erich programs to full the Quality Technological know-how Certification and is contemplating an additional certification plan in Lean Manufacturing. When he’s not attending lessons, Erich spends time in the health heart, climbing the rock partitions with mates.”
Grace Klang
“Klang was awarded a renewal scholarship in the volume of $1,000. She is a sophomore at Western Michigan College who is majoring in Aerospace Engineering with minors in Japanese and Arithmetic. Grace is a chief in Robotics and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics golf equipment. In her spare time, Grace enjoys operating, looking at typical novels, researching historical Japanese history and drawing.”
