Industrial Engineering Students and Faculty Recognized at National Conference

Industrial engineering college students and school been given a selection of honors at the national conference of the Institute of Industrial and Devices Engineers, held May 21-24 in Seattle.

Sandra Eksioglu, the Hefley Professor in Logistics and Entrepreneurship, was awarded the title of Fellow of the institute. This honor recognizes remarkable leaders of the occupation who have produced sizeable, nationally acknowledged contributions to industrial and techniques engineering. A Fellow is the highest classification of membership in the institute.

Other awards from the convention provided a Best Software Paper Award for doctoral prospect Hieu Trung Bui with co-authors Harry Pierson, Sarah Nurre Pinkley and Kelly Sullivan. The award acknowledges superb research papers published in IISE Transactions, the flagship journal of the institute. The title of Bui’s paper was “Toolpath arranging for multi-gantry additive manufacturing.”  Bui is suggested by Eksioglu.
